Answers to questions about our Site Builder

How to protect my website so viewers can't copy/paste my material?

The reality of publishing content on the web is that you can't 100% prevent users from copy/pasting your material. Technically one can go as far as taking a screenshot of your page and then cutting out the image or retyping your content or simply extract it from the source code of your site.

So to protect your assets the best measure is to abide by copyright laws and note them on your site because there will always be a way to copy/paste your material but your work is automatically protected by copyright laws if it is your own work.

For more information about the copyright laws in the US click here. This means that everything that you places on your website is automatically copyrighted. But this doesn't mean that people will not use your materials without your permission.

If you see a website/someone stealing your original work you can always use your legal recourse against them. See Digital Millennium Copyright Act.

In regards to images you can also put a watermark on your images in an image editing program or put a copyright notice under it.
